There is always in February some one day, at least, when one smells the yet distant, but surely coming, summer. — Gertrude Jekyll And here at Fiori Musicali HQ we are focusing on the season ahead. After the excitement of…

A New Year! Many greetings to all our followers. May 2026 be full of amazing and wonderful musical experiences for you. Here at Fiori HQ we are busy with plans for many exciting concerts – some in familiar venues, others…

After my first couple of Fiori concerts it was obvious that there was a gap in my classical and baroque knowledge. I can easily enjoy the music without knowing the technical bits but I rock the geek chic (or I'm just a geek) so I like to know the whys and wherefores.

On the occasion of Fiori Musicali’s performance of their ‘Vivaldi’s Venice’ at Bilton Grange Chapel, I thought I’d have a chat with one of the main instrumentalists of the evening, Heidi Fardell. Heidi’s instrument is quite familiar for many of us. It’s often the first experience that we have playing music. ‘London’s Burning’ might give you a clue.

When it comes to Fiori Musicali Penelope Rapson is the person in the know. Penelope is director (she keeps everyone in line) and founded the classical group in 1983 after studying music at Oxford. She's a clever bunny and as I know pretty much nothing about classical music, we had a chat so I could swot up!
Is there a misconception about classical music? It seems to me that the general public thinks that it's old fashioned or enjoyed only by older, posh people.
It's that time of year where the summer's drawing to a close. But suspend your dismay, summer is still in full swing!
As you know, it's Fiori's 30th birthday. There have been some gorgeous summer performances to mark the occasion and the celebrations continue next month.
Fiori Musicali take a trip to yet another stunning location this Sunday 11th August to mark 30 years since their founding. And what a show you can expect!
Fiori Musicali play concertos from baroque greats Vivaldi, Handel and Bach – in the ancient church of St Mary Magdalene 28 July 2013.
To celebrate high summer, Fiori will delight you with a performance of music from the high baroque (a phrase to describe music from the latter years of the baroque period 1600-1750) in their annual summer concert in the beautiful estate church at Castle Ashby.
