What’s on the Fiori Journey

Fiori have a brilliant weekend lined up so I thought it only polite to let you know what’s on.

Fiori’s friends at the National Trust are hosting their live rehearsal on Saturday afternoon at the stunning Canon’s Ashby. It’s an open rehearsal which means that anyone can drop in and listen for free!

Priory Church Canons Ashby

You may remember me telling you about Fiori performing there recently. I couldn’t leave without having a wander around the newly opened baroque gardens which are just beautiful so maybe you could take a look around whilst you’re there, especially with such lovely weather forecast. Let’s make the most of it!

Canons Ashby baroque gardens

Moving onto Sunday, Fiori have a fabulous concert which promises to be very special indeed.  The venue is a brilliant little Georgian church near Oundle, Stoke Doyle (PE8 5TH for your sat-nav device).

Stoke Doyle ChurchWell known organist James Parsons, whose many accolades include founding  the Oundle International Festival, is one of the UK’s premier organ tutors and a distinguished international recitalist.
He’ll be playing concertos by Handel and Stanley on the organ at Stoke Doyle – on one of his favourite organs.  Also on the bill is plenty of brilliant music by popular Englishman Henry Purcell – one of the best composers England ever had!  You’ll be treated to music from England’s baroque, so for once it will be very patriotic.

Tickets are still available so you can book online or by calling Fiori’s Box Office on +44 (0) 1327 360931.

Whatever you end up doing, have a fantastic weekend!
