Fiori Musicali – Meet the skipper

Fiori Musicali
When it comes to Fiori Musicali Penelope Rapson is the person in the know. Penelope is director (she keeps everyone in line) and founded the classical group in 1983 after studying music at Oxford. She's a clever bunny and as I know pretty much nothing about classical music, we had a chat so I could swot up!

Canons Ashby

Fiori Musicali have a residency at Canons Ashby which saw them perform at the National Trust several times last week. Every performance there is special but it was even more so this week as it was to celebrate the opening of the newly restored baroque gardens and to commemorate 300 years of baroque composer Corelli.

Sulgrave Manor

Have you promised yourself that you'll get out a bit more this year? Perhaps you're like me and want to find more out about the history of Northamptonshire and the beautiful location in the county? Maybe you'd like see more live musical performances? Well, this is a post for you!

Bonfire night with a difference

Who doesn't love Bonfire night? Forgetting the allegations of torture and the whole Gunpowder Plot (basically everything associated with it), I love Bonfire Night. It reminds me of the firework displays I went to as a child, wrapped up in at least 100 layers, whooshing my sparkler around to spell my name with the light, the smell of hotdogs and the sound of classical music drifting through the crisp cold air to stir the senses.
