Meet Amanda Babington – The Art of the Violin

There’s another excuse to enjoy a relaxed lunchtime recital at The Castle Wellingborough on Friday 9 May!  This is the next one in Fiori’s popular series of ‘meet the artist’ recitals,  when director Penelope Rapson introduces baroque violinist Amanda Babington (who you may have seen performing at The Castle in March).

Amanda Babington recorder player and violinist

Besides playing some of Amanda’s favourite baroque repertoire, Penelope and Amanda will also be chatting informally about the music they perform, revealing something about their passion for baroque music.

It turns out that Amanda is not only a baroque violinist. She is also a fine baroque recorder player and even more exciting, she’s one of the UK’s foremost experts on Handel’s music. So this looks set to be a fascinating insight into Handel’s world.  Also on the programme is music by Corelli, Bach and Telemann as well, of course, as music by the great man himself, Handel.

These popular lunchtime events are a great way to meet the individuals who make Fiori Musicali what they are and enjoy music in an informal atmosphere. There’s a buffet lunch after the performance (and this is included in the ticket price of £14. It’s a bargain if you ask me!)

Tickets can be purchased through Fiori’s website by clicking on this link or by calling their Box Office on 01327 360931.
